Dear Church Family,
Over the past year and a half, we have been quietly and faithfully working toward something that I believe will become a powerful expression of Christ’s love in our communities. You may remember when we received a grant from the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church to support the ministries of our cooperative parish, particularly the launch of this new ministry: Faith United Meals.
Faith United Meals is a meal delivery service designed to care for those in need through something both simple and deeply meaningful – a nourishing meal, prepared and delivered with compassion. What began as an idea has, through much prayer and effort, begun to take shape into something that will soon be real and tangible. We have hired a dedicated director to lead this ministry, and we have secured a kitchen space at The Way Station in East Palestine (formerly the Presbyterian Church). Now, we are actively preparing that space so that we can begin serving.
This is where you come in.
A ministry like this does not happen through one or two people – it comes to life through the hands and hearts of many. As we move closer to launch, we will need volunteers in a variety of roles. Some may feel called to help prepare and package meals. Others may be willing to drive and deliver meals to those who might not otherwise receive them. Each role, no matter how small it may seem, is an important part of sharing God’s love in a very real way.
In the coming months, you will receive more detailed information about how to get involved, including opportunities to sign up and serve. For now, I invite you to pray for this ministry as we work to get everything in place, to pray about how you might participate, and to pray for those in our community who will benefit from this service.
I truly believe that Faith United Meals has the potential to be a blessing not only to those we serve, but also to each of us as we live out our faith together. Thank you for being a church family that continues to respond to God’s call with generosity and love.
In Christ’s Love & Service,
Pastor Lisa
